The newest ship on Lan Ha Bay, billed by its operator as six-star. Thirty cabins, an infinity pool, spa, sauna and Imperial suites with ocean-view bathtubs.
Not in the brochure adjectives. In the infinity pool, the sauna, the suite ladder and the eight extra cabins that keep a seventy-person guest list on one ship.
The pool runs to the edge of the deck with the karsts behind it. It is the shot everyone takes, and the reason guests stay aboard between the morning kayak and dinner.
Baylight, Horizon and Imperial, each with a private balcony and an ocean-view bathtub. Enough of a ladder to seat parents, VIPs and the couple at different price points.
Eight more cabins than Aspira, which is the difference between splitting a guest list across two ships and keeping everyone on one. Sixty-four at the ship’s own maximum.
A sauna alongside the treatment rooms. It changes what a 3D2N retreat can offer on the slower second day.
The operator calls the ship a six-star masterpiece and the sailing itself a five-star voyage — and both are fair. Aspira carries the same categories of facility at a smaller scale; Azura's are bigger and purpose-built, which changes what two days can include.
Deciding between the two ships? We will tell you plainly which fits your headcount and budget. Compare with Aspira
From the operator's own cabin page. Baylight and Horizon are the same 34m² room on different decks — the operator publishes no other difference between them, so neither do we.
| Grade | Cabins and bed mix | Deck | Size | Has |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baylight Suite | 12 — 6 twin, 4 double, 2 triple | 1st | 34m² | Private balcony, ocean-view bathtub |
| Horizon Suite | 16 — 7 twin, 7 double, 2 triple | 2nd | 34m² | Private balcony, sea-view bathtub |
| Imperial Suite | 2 | 2nd | 66m² | Steam room, balcony with two sun loungers, ocean-view bathtub, dressing table, minibar |
Every cabin has a bathtub facing the water, which is unusual — on most ships here that is a suite upgrade. Beds are a 2 × 2.2m king, or two to three 1 × 2m singles. Four of the thirty are triples. The standard bed mix comes to 64 — 26 berths in Baylight, 34 in Horizon, 4 in the two Imperial suites — and the ship stretches to about 70 with extra beds, which is what it charters at.
One figure to ignore if you meet it elsewhere: the operator's Vietnamese page says "90 to 200 guests". Neither can be an overnight number for this cabin mix — it is presumably a day-boat or event capacity.
The operator's own 2D1N programme, hour by hour. This is the document a run of show gets built against — the stretch after the sunset party and the 20:45 slot are where a ceremony or an awards segment goes without fighting the itinerary.
Azura leaves from Tuan Chau International Marina, waiting lounge 38. So does Aspira, from the harbour alongside it — but the Athena ships all work out of Ha Long International Port instead. Worth knowing when you are timing transfers from Hanoi, and essential if a guest list is split across two vessels.
Taken from the ship's own menus. The useful part for an event is not the dish names — it is that dinner is a plated set with four options, and that vegetarian and Indian vegetarian menus already exist in print rather than being improvised on the day.
Five salads across Waldorf, Niçoise, Sicilian, German bacon and chickpea; a hot corner running grilled oysters two ways, stir-fried squid, pork belly in orange sauce, honey chicken and shrimp steamed in coconut water; then a dessert counter, a tropical fruit platter and a Vietnamese chè station with six sweet soups.
Each runs five courses. Scallops with mango then cod with passion fruit butter and Iberico pork with truffle; or herb-cured salmon, seafood papillote and beef tenderloin; or octopus salad, baked salmon with tobiko cream and braised chicken with pear; or Caesar, tiger prawns with salted egg yolk and lamb chops with green peppercorn.
Mango and anchovy salad, seafood spring rolls, sea bass steamed in soy, beef braised with sugarcane and pineapple fried rice — or banana blossom salad, Ha Long squid cakes, ginger chicken, beef ribs braised with tomato and sticky taro rice in coconut milk.
A vegetarian lunch and a separate Indian vegetarian dinner — tomato shorba, corn chaat, roti, tarka dal, paneer tikka masala, aloo gobi and rice kheer. Worth knowing before you ask: these are printed menus, not a kitchen improvising on the day.
A live egg station, beef or chicken pho, a pastry counter and fruit. Brunch on the second morning is served while the ship cruises back to port. All of it in Auréa, the restaurant on deck three.
Menus change with the season and with what the kitchen can source. Tell us the dietary requirements in your group early and we will get the current sheets from the operator rather than working from this page.
Azura launched in December 2025 and already sits at number 3 of 482 in Ha Long Bay. It has fewer reviews than Aspira for the obvious reason — it has been sailing for less time. Every link goes to the live listing so you can judge the sample yourself.
