Some years a team does not need another workshop. It needs to sleep, eat well and come back on Monday with something left. A recovery offsite plans for that on purpose.
On a corporate retreat on Ha Long Bay, the ship does most of the work. Nobody can drop into the office, and Tai Chi runs every morning on all six ships we charter.
If rest is the whole point, Athena Premium is built for it. It is the first overnight cruise in the bay to run a Japanese onsen, with a sauna alongside, and its infinity pool is heated for use all year. The operator’s own programme brings everyone back aboard at 17:00 for the pool, the onsen, the sauna and the spa.
Budget for that hour. The onsen and sauna are not in the fare: they are charged separately, and reception quotes the price on the day. Spa treatments and massage are charged as you use them. Ask before you sail, and give it a line in the budget rather than leaving it to whoever has the company card.
Athena Premium is new. The operator’s date for its first sailing was 1 October 2026, and our page still shows its spa and onsen as renders. If you would rather book a ship with a record, Athena Royal has a timber sauna beside its treatment room, takes massage bookings through the cruise manager, and sails the quieter Bai Tu Long.
Keep the agenda to one session, or none. The point of the trip is what happens between 17:00 and breakfast.
