Moving the company D&D onto a Ha Long Bay cruise

A Singapore dinner and dance on a whole-ship charter. The dinner is the D&D, karaoke is already on the programme, and nobody has to get home after.

Moving the company D&D onto a Ha Long Bay cruise

Most D&Ds end the same way: the ballroom empties and everyone queues for a taxi. On a ship, nobody has to get home.

We charter whole ships on Ha Long Bay for 24 to 158 guests, and a year-end dinner and dance fits the format with very little changed. The dinner is the D&D. Speeches, awards and the lucky draw happen at the table, as they would in a hotel.

Choose the ship by its dining room, because the whole company has to sit down at once. That number matters more than the cabin count.

For a team of up to 42, Athena Luxury seats 50 in its restaurant, with a projector already installed. The year in photos needs no hired kit.

For a bigger company, Athena Premium takes 158 guests. Its restaurant seats 110 for a banquet, so a whole-ship dinner moves to the 800m² sundeck, which the operator rates for 250 seated. Ask for the rain plan when you book.

After dinner, the programme already does the dance floor’s job. Aspira, Athena Luxury and Signature Halong all list karaoke after dinner, alongside squid fishing. On Athena Premium, karaoke and drinks are charged on consumption, so agree a bar budget before the night rather than after it.

Then everyone sleeps on board, and the morning starts with Tai Chi on deck instead of the MRT.
